John 3:16 For God so loved the world that be gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. That is the purpose for why Jesus came. That is why Jesus died and was raised. It was to give life to whoever believes. What kind of God is he to love people like us?! What kind of God is he to love us in this way: that he gave his only Son for us, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life — which means life with him. The eternal life that Jesus gives us is the life of God’s love that is eternal. To know the love of God is to know the glory of God, which is what’s behind everything. This is what Jesus has known from before the foundations of the world; it’s what we were made for; and it’s what, now, because of Jesus, we are welcomed into when we believe in him. God created you to love you, God is for you, He is rooting for you, even when you fail, even when you sin. Christ’s love has the first and last word in everything we do. God loves us with a love that binds Himself to us.
